Artist's Comments

My first sucessful schoolproject for IB Higher Art.
I have used the printing method (Etching) and rolled it on to a watercolour paper I had painted with beige watercolours. Then I used a wet paintbrush to drag out the pink paint from the zebra to make it "bleed". next was to use a pen (not ball-pen) to draw on top of the printing. Then I also used water on this to let the ink bleed out.

I love the colours. this is very very interesting and I like it a lot.

I kind of think of loneliness and a sense of being lost, or running away from something.

PS. The colours look a bit pale from the original.

Thank you :)
I used watercolours, printing, pen and a lot of water on watercolour paper.
If you can see it, there is a codebar on the stomach symbolizing animal trade and I tried to show how we let animals suffer without caring and how they are used to our benefits. Zebras.. well. they are used for carpets etc.

You're welcome!
That's so cool. I can totally relate to that symbolism, it's really terrible what humans will do to further themselves in the world. Zebras (and other animals!) are such lovely creatures.
